Some slot developers like to stick with the less is more theme and that is exactly what’s happened here with Inspired Gaming. They have decided to roll back the years with their slot game named 20p Slot, yeah, it’s not very creative we know! But we love Inspired Gaming and we just had to see what they could do with the simpler side of things?

Game Features
20p Slot is a 3-reel, 5 fixed pay line game offering players a less than glamourous 95% RTP. The game is set out in a retro three-reel style on a green background. The x5 pay lines are clearly marked by the numbers at the side of the reels and your symbols are all fruit themed as found on most original slot machines. Higher paying symbols are the red and gold casino chips, strawberries, bells, grapes and a watermelon. Lower paying symbols are the cherries, lemons, oranges and plums. There is no music playing as the reel spin, but there is a nice lulling thudding sound as the reels settle into position.
Bet Amounts – Betting on 20p Slot begins at 20p per spin and can be increased up to £250 per spin. To amend your bet use the plus and minus symbol found on the bet amount, until you have reached your desired bet. Then just hit spin to resume your game at that chosen bet level.
Wild Symbol – Unfortunately there is no wild symbol in 20p slot, as the team over at Inspired Gaming have taken a more simplistic design for this game. But there is a special treat in store for those of you that like to turn things up a notch, so make sure to carry on reading for more details.
Scatter Symbol – There is also no scatter symbols in this game either and whilst this could become a turn off point for many, we don’t think you should write the game off yet. You still have the gamble feature and the fortune bet to consider and you can find out more about those below.
Fortune Bet Feature – 20p Slot offers players the chance to increase their base bet amount and in return you are given some extra win potential. To activate the fortune bet click the red and gold button found just to the left of the spin button and it will switch on. Once you are done with the feature click the button again and it will switch off.
When you do activate the fortune bet it will increase your current bet amount by 50%. But, in return it will turn the gold casino chip into a wild symbol. Yes, we know we said there was no wild symbol, but we wanted to surprise you! When the gold chip has been turned wild it will substitute for all the other symbols in the game, helping to create winning combinations.
Gamble Feature – When you land yourself a win you will be offered the chance to gamble it a step further, in a bid to increase your winnings. Should you choose to gamble you will be taken to a new screen and shown x5 cards facing down. The first card will be turned over and you will then have to decide whether you want to gamble. You then turn over the next card and if it is higher than the previous card you will double our winnings. You lose the round if you pick a card that is lower than the first one showing. You can choose to gamble again if you win the first gamble and you can do this again up to the maximum of x4 picks total.
Overview
So, 20p Slot doesn’t have all the bells and whistles that a normal slot offers, but it certainly makes for some interesting game play. More so once you switch on the fortune bet option and get yourself that elusive wild symbol. We have to admit that the wild is sorely missed when the fortune bet is not activated. Main game wins are slow in coming when playing the base game with no fortune bet, but when they do start landing, they are a good mix of high and low pay outs.
It is a slot that makes for quick and easy gameplay that’s for sure, with no difficult features to try to figure out. This makes it a quickfire game for those of you wanting something to play in short bursts. However, if intricate features are your thing then 20p Slot isn’t going to do anything for you. Whilst the added extra of the gamble feature may seem like a draw to some, we found we lost more than won. Overall 20p Slot gave a lot more than we thought it would and we will definitely be revisiting it again in the future.
