Game Features
Golden Egypt is a 5-reel, 25 fixed pay line slot that offers a variable RTP of 92.2% to 96.19% for players. Reels hover above what we can only assume is the flowing river Nile and you will see pyramids and desert scenes behind. Now, with such amazing work done on the background scenery, you will be very sad to hear that the music is not quite in keeping with the game. But, don’t let that put you off as there is still a lot more to uncover in Golden Egypt, much like the layers of a mummy unravelling.
Bet Amounts – Betting begins at £25 per spin and can be increased up to a whopping £5,000 per spin! Be very sure that you can sustain betting at the higher ends of the bet amounts, otherwise we would advise to stay towards the lower ends to be safe. It is very easy to amend the bet, click on the words bet amount to the left of the screen and pick from the list of stakes available.
Wild Symbol – In Golden Egypt your wild is a little different than you will find in other games. In order to get your wild symbol activated you need to land x2 gold coins to activate the wild reels feature.
Scatter Symbol – A set of pyramids is your scatter symbol and landing 3 or more of these anywhere on the reels will trigger the bonus spins.
Sphinx Stacked Symbol – As well as having two bonus symbols Golden Egypt has one more trick up its sleeve for you. As the reels spin you will see the blue Sphinx head occupies x2 spots on the reel at all times. Whether the Sphinx appears fully on your reel or not is entirely random, but if it does you may just be in luck. The Sphinx symbol is the highest paying in the whole game and landing x5 on a winning pay line will award a x300 coin win.
Bonus Spins Feature -By landing three pyramid scatter symbols anywhere in view you will activate this feature. Bonus spins will be awarded to you, but you will have a choice as to which you pick as shown below:
- 3 scatter symbols – you can choose either 5 spins + 3 wild reels, 15 spins + 2 wild reels or 30 spins + 1 wild reel,
- 4 scatter symbols – choose either 10 spins + 3 wild reels, 30 spins + 2 wild reels or 60 spins + 1 wild reel,
- 5 scatter symbols – choose either 15 spins + 3 wild reels, 45 spins + 2 wild reels or 90 spins + 1 wild reel.
It is worth noting that when you have made your choice the reels will turn wild at random and change on every spin!
Wild Reels Feature – We mentioned above that the wilds are played a little differently in Golden Egypt. Well, you will see that as the reels spin every so often a gold coin will land, and it will fill one of the x2 gaps above the reels. Once you fill the x2 gaps with coins that reel will then become totally wild for the next two spins. What makes this interesting is that you could end up filling the gaps on multiple reels at the same time or consecutively.
Overview
Ok, so Golden Egypt isn’t overflowing with features, but the ones it does have are certainly worth playing for. Unfortunately, the music was a huge turnoff for us but luckily, we could switch it off and continue playing. What we loved the most was the wild reels feature, this triggered fast and often, and it did bring us some pretty nifty wins too. Sadly, the bonus game was a touch harder to land, but we loved the fact we could choose our own bonus destination. If ancient Egypt is your go to theme then this game is certainly going to be on your list, but with such high stakes needed you are going to need a healthy balance to sustain any length of play here.
