Game Features
Munchers is a 5-reel, 25 pay line slot offering 95.35% RTP to players. The game itself is set in a flower shop that seems to have come to life, with ominous looking flowers, flies, spiders and other garden paraphernalia.
Bet Amounts – Betting on Munchers begins at 1p per pay line in play and can be increased to £10 per line in play. This means spins can cost from just 1p and up to £250 depending on the lines in play and the stake you have chosen. As you can see there is quite a range of betting, so be sure you have amended the lines active and the bet amount, before hitting spin.
Wild Symbol – A very angry looking man-eating flower is your wild and it substitutes for all other symbols in the game, except the watering can scatter. The flower wild is also your highest paying symbol in Munchers and offers a huge 5,000 coin win, for landing five of these on an active pay line.
Scatter Symbol – Watering your plants is important, so it makes sense that your scatter symbol is a watering can. Landing three of these will trigger the bonus feature, however landing 2 or more will also award scatter wins to your line win. So, there is a lot to play for where the scatters are concerned.
Gamble Feature – On each win you have the option to gamble that prize, in the hope of doubling or quadrupling your win. When you hit the gamble button, you will be taken to a new screen and shown a card turned face down. You need to pick the colour or the suit of the card and if you guess correctly, you will either double your win for the right colour or quadruple your win if you guess the right suit. However, guess incorrectly and you lose everything, so think wisely before checking this option out.
Bonus Spin Feature – Once you have triggered the Munchers bonus feature, you will be allocated 10 bonus spins. Spins can not be retriggered during the feature, but you do receive expanding flower wilds here. It will grow from the flower pot at the bottom of the screen and fill up the reel. Whilst there is no other multiplier, the expanding wild will help to create much bigger wins.
Overview
Ok, so Munchers has only one main feature, but when that lands it does pay off and the wins come quite regularly too. NextGen Gaming have maybe dropped the ball a little, as this game has the scope to be a much wider feature filled slot than it is. That being said, the design was fun and we especially loved when the flower wild comes to life on the reels. Not only that, the main feature did trigger often enough for us to forgive the lack of extras. But if you are looking for a game packed full of excitement this maybe isn’t for you, as although it was good to play it got kind of boring as you are just searching for the scatters every spin.
