Game Features
Genie Wild is a 5-reel, 25 pay line slot that offers a magical 96% RTP for players. It is set inside what we can only assume is the Genies lair inside the lamp, full of comfy cushions, wall coverings and lanterns. Symbols are all themed with things like money and gems, as well as an Arabic twist to the usual card symbols. Higher value symbols are the monkey, treasure chest, amethyst gemstone and bowl of fruit. Whilst the lower values are the A, K, Q, J, 10 and 9 all drawn in Arabic style lettering. As the reels spin you also get a distinctly Arabic tune playing for you. The only downside to it is that it stops and starts as the reels spin and land. This can tend to get a bit off putting after a while, so we switched it off.
Bet Amounts – Betting on Genie Wild begins at 1p per line in play and can be changed in increments up to £10 per line in play. This means that the cost per spin can range between 1p up to the maximum of £250 per spin! Change your bet by adjusting the lines you have active and then the bet per line in play, once happy hit spin; simple as that!
Wild Symbol – In a game based on a genie, it makes sense that the wild symbol would be the Genie herself. She will substitute for all other symbols except the scatter and she is also the highest paying symbol in the game too. She offers a x5000 your bet amount if you land x5 genie wilds on an active pay line.
Scatter Symbol – The genies bottle is your scatter symbol and landing three or more anywhere on the reels will trigger the feature. Scatter wins are in play here too, giving players an extra win on top of their line win for landing at least 2 or more scatters.
- 2 scatter symbols will award x2 your bet amount as an extra win,
- 3 scatter symbols will award x4 your bet amount as an extra win,
- 4 scatter symbols will award x15 your bet amount as an extra win,

Gamble Feature – Genie Wild offers players the chance to gamble their winning amount. If you choose to gamble, you will be taken to a new screen and offered the choice of doubling or quadrupling your win. There will be a card turned face down in front of you. Choose the correct colour of the card to double your win or choose the correct suit to quadruple your win. If you guess correctly you can take a guess at another card. Up to a maximum of 5 guesses are allowed before being returned with your winnings to the main game. But, guess incorrectly and your original win, plus anything else you have accrued during the gamble feature is all lost. Meaning you return back to the main game with nothing, so remember to choose this option wisely.
Bonus Spins Feature – Land three or more of the bottle scatter symbol to trigger the bonus spins feature. You will be allocated with 10 bonus spins to play through, with another little extra to help those wins along. The genie wild will now become an expanding wild. This means that whenever she lands on the reels she will expand to fill the whole reel! This will in turn help to complete any other potential win combinations that would have been missed. Unfortunately, there is no way to retrigger the bonus spins from within the round.
Overview
Whilst Genie Wild only really has the singular feature to boast about, it actually is a very popular game. This is in part we think, because it is a nice easy game that offers great win potential on both levels. Meaning the base game and the bonus game, with wins occurring vigorously in the main game and the bonus game triggering frequently enough to overlook the fact it can’t be retriggered from within. People are flocking back to this retro looking and sounding game time and again, and we can see why. Our personal advice would be to avoid that gamble feature altogether, but if you should feel the urge then only gamble it the once. If you are lucky you will take home a win, if not then you haven’t lost a great deal. Personally, we avoid the gamble features altogether but that’s just our own preference.
