Symbols in North Storm are all forms of runes and Viking items, with higher paying symbols being the three Viking emblems in gold, silver and bronze. Cascade Fall Feature – Rabcat have engineered an awesome treat for players in the form of the cascade symbol fall feature. All this means is that every time you complete a winning combination of x3 or more matching symbols, they will be removed from the reels. New symbols will then drop down to fill the spaces left behind, but if they then complete a new winning combination the process is repeated. This will continue until no new matches are made and then you resume normal game play until a win is triggered again. It is a great addition to any game and gives players multiple win chances from single paid spins.
Bonus Spins Feature – As mentioned above the scatter symbol works in a different way in North Storm, than you may be used to in other games. If you land x3 scatter symbols on a pay line and in succession starting from reel 1, to reel 2 and finally ending on reel 3, then you trigger the initial x8 bonus spin award. However, land another set of scatters on a different pay line and you will be awarded an extra x2 bonus spins. There is a maximum x20 additional spins that can be awarded in this manner. This wholly depends on the cascade feature awarding more scatter symbols in the format needed to trigger the extras. This being a scatter symbol on reels 1, 2, 3 and being on a pay line as well. Whilst this seems overly difficult to achieve it actually isn’t and you may be pleasantly surprised at the ease of which the bonus spins can be triggered. You can’t retrigger the bonus spins feature from within the round. Also, once the full x20 extra spins have been awarded, you will not receive any more spins for this bonus round even if you land the required scatters.
Overview
North Storm is quite an engaging slot to play, thanks to the cascade feature. There are plenty of chances for wins and they come fairly often, but more on the lower end of the pay scale. The bonus spins are pretty effective in as much as you get your initial 8 spins and can increase it by x2 for every subsequent trio of scatters you land on a winning pay line. But you will find that those extra x2 spins are harder to trigger than the initial allocation, not that this is a huge loss as x8 spins is still a fair amount to be awarded.
