Ozzy Osbourne is a 5-reel, 25 fixed pay line slot that offers all wannabe rockers a variable RTP of 96.3% to 96.67%. Your reels are set inside a dark gothic structure with gargoyles on either side. They are packed with various Ozzy themed items as well as other symbols. Higher paying symbols are the four Ozzy Osbourne’s backed by red, yellow, green and blue coloured circles. Lower paying symbols are the crow on the red heart, skull on the yellow diamond, cross on the green spade and blue rose on the club symbol. Scatter Symbol – Your scatter symbol on Ozzy Osbourne is a red tractor of some kind and landing x2 of the scatter symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5 will trigger the respin feature. It also helps to trigger the bonus spins too, but that is a little more intricate in detail and we will fill you in further down.
Bonus Bet Feature – If like some players you like to give yourself a bit more of an edge when you play, you can choose to activate the Bonus Bet. When activated it will double your current stake amount, but it will give you the following extras for the trouble of the higher cost.
- X1 extra spin when the bonus spins are triggered,
- Increase the multiplier to x5 and x7 in the respin feature.
Respin Feature – Land yourself a scatter symbol on reels 1, 3 and 5, and you will trigger the respin feature. As the respin begins so too does the charge up and this will start with the two columns on either side of the reels being hit with lightening. The left square at the top of the column will spin until a random symbol from those on the reels is selected and the square at the top of the right column will award a prize. You will be awarded with a single respin of the reels with a random symbol selected by the charge up feature above the reels to be awarded one of the following options:
- Coin Win – a coin win is awarded for every instance of the chosen symbol that appears on the reels once the spin has finished,
- Symbol Multiplier – any wins that have the chosen symbol forming part of it will be multiplied by either x2 or x3,
- Wild – every instance of the chosen symbol on the reels once the spin has finished will be transformed into a wild symbol,
- Upgrade – the chosen symbol is upgraded by one level, meaning every instance of the selected symbol will transform into the one above it on the pay table!
Bonus Spins Feature – To trigger this you need to land a scatter symbol in the left hand square during the charge up feature. If you do you will instantly be awarded x4 bonus spins with the charge up feature activated on each spin during the round. However, the results of each individual charge up will last for the whole round, meaning if you land a win multiplier for all crow symbols on spin one, that multiplier is active through spins 2, 3 and 4! The same applies for each charge up result for the whole round, which is a pretty great thing if you ask us. If you land another scatter symbol in the charge up left side column during the round, you are allocated one extra spin to your total.
Overview
Not the neatest execution of a slot game that we have seen from NetEnt, but Ozzy Osbourne is enjoyable none the less. A great combination of Black Sabbath tunes, images of Ozzy himself and of course some interesting features. The addition of the bonus bet into the game was a genius ploy on NetEnts part but isn’t something we advise to get to use to playing. It doubles your stake for very little return. Whilst it may be tempting to award yourself that extra spin or increase your multiplier, these things don’t always trigger, so you are doubling your bet for nothing on many of the spins. By all means give it a try and who knows you may strike lucky, but it’s not something you would want to have permanently activated as it will eat into your balance.
Overall Ozzy Osbourne offers great potential to those of you who enjoy rocking out whilst playing some online slots. It offers a variable RTP which does increase slightly with the bonus bet activated. But in all honesty wins came regularly enough without it, thanks to that scatter triggered charge up feature in the respin!
