Vlad’s Castle is a 5-reel, 25 pay line slot offering an RTP of 95.3% for players. Set inside an elaborate black framework, the reels spin to sombre music and some interesting sound effects. The reels themselves are packed with symbols relating to the theme including Vlad’s Castle, Vlad and even the usual card symbols have a gothic twist to them. High paying symbols are represented by the damsel in distress, a bat, coffin and a white rose. Lower paying symbols are represented by the A, K, Q, J, 10 and 9, all drawn in dark black and red calligraphy. When in play there is spooky parlour music being played and on winning combinations you will hear thunder cracking.
Bet Amounts – Betting begins at 1p per line in play and can be increased to 50p per line in play. This means your spins can cost from 1p per spin up to just £12.50 per spin, making Vlad’s Castle amongst the more affordable games online. To amend your bet, click the coin symbol below the spin button. A new screen will appear with two sliding scales on. One is for the lines in play and one is for the bet per line. Move the sliders up or down until you are happy with the lines and bet you have active. To get back to the game just hit the spin button.
Wild Symbol – Vlad himself is your wild symbol and he will substitute for all symbols in the game except the scatter. The Vlad wild will award a x2 multiplier to any win that he helps to form during the game. He also doubles up as your bonus symbol too, so read on below to find out how he triggers your feature game.
Scatter Symbol – Your scatter symbol is Vlad’s Castle set in front of a red skyline. Land three or more of the scatter symbol anywhere in view to trigger the Portrait bonus feature.
Bonus Symbol – Once again Vlad shows up and this time he acts as a bonus symbol instead of a wild. Land three or more of the Vlad symbol anywhere on the reels to activate the bonus spins feature.
Portrait Feature – Having landed three of the castle scatter symbol anywhere in view, you will be taken to the portrait feature. You will be taken to a new screen and given a choice of items to pick from. The number of picks you are allowed to take, is dependant upon the number of scatter symbols you had on the reels when the feature triggered. Each pick will award a prize multiplier from x1 up to x100 the bet amount. If you have multiple picks, all of the multipliers you reveal will be accrued and awarded at the end of the round.
Bonus Spins Feature – Bag yourself three or more Vlad symbols anywhere in view and you will enter the bonus spins feature. You will now be allocated with a number of spins and a x3 multiplier on all wins made during the round.
- 3 bonus symbols will award 15 bonus spins,
- 4 bonus symbols will award 20 bonus spins,
- 5 bonus symbols will award 25 bonus spins.
You can retrigger the bonus spins feature up to a maximum of 15 times from within the same round. This means players have the potential of winning up to 375 spins in total from the same round, offering huge win potential when you add in that x3 multiplier!
Vlad’s Castle is a game of epic proportions in more ways than one. The spooky music and animations build a great atmosphere. Even more so when Vlad himself morphs into a bat and fly’s away when he forms a win! We like the idea of a dual wild/bonus symbol, although some people do prefer to keep things separate for ease of understanding the rules. We hope we have made it clear how both the Vlad wild and Vlad bonus symbols work for you. Once the game is in play it does become easier to follow and understand though. The bonus features trigger often enough and although we would like to attest to the retriggering of the bonus spins, it only happened once for us during our time of playing. We aren’t quibbling though as it gave us an extra set of spins to play through and that’s always a bonus in our eyes.
